In the huge world of Skyrim, most players resort to farming dungeons, chasing monsters, and completing quests for rewards. And they fail to realize that Skyrim tries to be as dynamic as possible, and like in the real world, there are tons of hidden treasures and items just hidden away behind bushes, under bridges, or sometimes right under your house.
Knowing all these spots from the start can be like having a superpower, because you can just head here, equip all the gear, and start your Skyrim adventure as an overpowered main character.
Whiterun Chest: The Khajiit Caravan Stash
This is the most famous hidden chest in Skyrim. It’s tied to Ahkari’s Khajiit caravan, but the game accidentally spawns it underground.
This chest has many high-level items like potions, enchanted gear, and lots of gold. The location of this chest is the best piece of advice to give a new player.
How to find Whiterun Chest:
- Go outside Whiterun’s front gates.
- Walk to the small rock pile just east of the gates.
- Crouch and carefully look near the rock; you’ll see a “Search Chest” option pop up.
Dawnstar Invisible Chest
The second Khajiit-related stash is even better than Whiterun’s.
This chest is also full of high-level items like potions, gems, and gold. The best part? This chest respawns every in-game 48 hours!
How to find Dawnstar Invisible Chest:
- Fast travel to Dawnstar.
- Head to the Iron-Breaker Mine.
- Just left of the mine entrance, crouch and look at the ground near the tree/rock.
Solitude Rock Stash
Less famous but still worth a stop if you’re traveling to Solitude. This stash has loot that scales depending on your level.
